Zombieland Saga is an original anime so the story is not based on any manga or novel series. The first season of the anime premiered in the fall of 2018 featuring 12 episodes in total.
This debut was very instrumental in raising the name of the Zombieland Saga. While season 2 aired four years after the first season ended in full on April 8, 2021, and recently concluded on June 24, 2021, showing 12 episodes in all.
Currently, the fans of the show are waiting for the story update in season 3. So when is the release schedule for Zombieland Saga Season 3? Here’s why!
When Will Zombieland Saga Season 3 be Released?
Only when the latest update, MAPPA, AVEX Pictures, Cygames Pictures, or other parties involved with the anime have officially confirmed the release date of Zombieland Saga season 3.
Production of the Zombieland Saga sequel has also not been announced.
To speculate about when the Zombieland Saga season 3 release date might happen in the future. Once the news is officially confirmed, we will inform you through a future article.
Predict Whether or Not Zombieland Saga Season 3 Will Exist
The second season seems to wrap up all the main story points and answer all the unanswered questions from the first season.
Reporters know the girls are zombies and are ready to reveal their secret. FranChouChou was recognized as a top competitor by Tokyo’s best Idol group Iron Frill.
Kichi’s dream of revitalizing Saga Prefecture in the past is the origin of the current conflict. Elder Saga is immortal and responsible for the real zombie revival, not Kotaro Tasumi.
However, there is a questionable element, namely the background of the cause of the death of the very legendary Tae Yamada has not yet been fully disclosed.
Episode 6 of the second season shows that the grave of the Minamoto family (Sakura Family) is positioned right next to Yamada’s grave.
Cygames had previously discussed Tae Yamada’s background at the start of planning for the first season finale, but they decided to push it to a later season (Season 2).
Based on the storyline the characters are still anime and can still get development.
Like Kotaro’s Intentions and Motivation had just started and exploded. In addition, Kotaro’s relationship with Sakura needs to be resolved.
At the same time, there is a push on the financial side to keep the series going.
Apart from Avex Pictures and Cygames, Studio MAPPA itself wants to make more money compared to other projects where the company is just a contractor that is not on the core anime production committee.
As well as being popular internationally on streaming platforms, Blu-Ray sales of Zombieland Saga in Japan for volume 1 of the first season were very high compared to most anime series.
With 20,817 copies sold in its first week, it was about 10 times the average. All three volumes of the first season sold more than 60,000 copies combined.
The next question is how this series can continue naturally and not be forced, therefore Zombieland Saga 3 is very dependent on whether Zombieland Saga season 2 episode 12 leaves an opening for season 3.
The production team talked about the second season shortly after the first season ended.
Also, the first season featured a teasing post-credits scene for the published Zombieland Saga sequel, so let’s hope the same will happen for the updated Zombieland Saga Season 3.
Hopefully, Studio MAPPA won’t make us wait too long for the release date of Zombieland Saga season 3. We’ll let you know when it’s confirmed so stay tuned!
What is The Plotline of Zombieland Saga Season 3?
Zombieland Saga’s plot is exciting and contains a strange mix of elements of Japanese idol culture and zombie lore.
The show begins by presenting the life of Sakura Minamoto, a high school girl who dreams of becoming a zombie.
However, Sakura’s dream, and indeed her life, ended when she was hit by a truck and died in a road accident.
Ten years after Sakura’s death, he miraculously wakes up and finds himself a zombie with no memory of his past.
While trying to figure out the origins of her awakening as a Zombie, Sakura meets a man named Koutarou Tatsumi, who explains her awakening.
Koutarou explains that he resurrected not only Sakura but also six other girls from different eras to economically revitalize Saga prefecture through a zombie idol group.
From here on out, Koutarou took on the role of a ruthless manager and started scheduling shows for his zombie idol group.
That way, this show can be articled with an absurd and humorous view of the Japanese idol crocodile and follows its members of a group called FranChouChou as they hide their identities as undead.
That’s about the Zombieland Saga season 3 anime, by knowing the information above fans will at least know what’s going on with the prospect of the third season at the moment, though don’t worry yet because officially there’s no news of its cancellation so we can still look forward to it some time to come.
